Why a Laser Measuring Tape is Important in your Real Estate/Construction Business

When it comes to building project execution, construction or even basic house work, measurements are the key to doing them right, saving costs, and reducing material wastage. In this kind of measurement, accuracy, precision, ease of use and durability must be duly considered.

A Laser measuring tape gives easy measurement, consistency, accuracy, and precision with minimal user interference.

Using a Laser Tape Measure is the best way to get the building job done. They are fast replacing old traditional tapes; this is due to their consistency on the field and their extremely wide application.

Laser Measure accuracy is extremely high. You can consult us for the best quality Laser Measuring Tapes.

Here are some benefits of using a Laser Tape Measure over the old Measuring Tape:

  • The On-board functions make complex calculations extremely easy to perform for Area, provided you take two measurements, Volume with three measurements and the Pythagorean Theorem upon entering the base measurement and the distance between you and the highest point of an object.
  • In case of more complex calculations, the Laser Measure will either take care of this On-board or, in some cases, extended software is available for windows meaning; complex planning tasks can be undertaking with relative ease.
  • Laser Tape measures also have their own system memory. The newer models can store up to 20 readings to its internal memory. This feature ensures that even if you forget something, you can always go back and fill in the missing gaps in your numbers.
  • There are some specific models of Laser Measuring Tape with the ability to send information directly to your computer using USB. There’s no more writing, no more bad handwriting and no more loosing sheet. Some models can also connect to your phone.
  • You can send out accurate measurements to bosses, contractors, and anybody else involved in the project that you’re working on. Some allow you to take pictures and add them to the PDFs you create.
  • Imagine having to bypass playing telephone all day and just presenting the raw data and the corresponding image. That’s hours saved on meetings, typing, and double checking. This is perfect for project managers that have to send updates constantly while on the field.
  • Laser Measuring Tape is cost effective, with a laser tape measure, you can essentially be a one-man team. You can eliminate the need for another person on the other end of a physical tape measure as well as any other assistant. In the end, this means good things for your budget. If you have a tripod you can eliminate the only variable between you and a distant point.
  • A Laser Measuring Tape helps you survey an entire area and process your findings quicker than through conventional means.

Owning a tape measure is definitely a sound investment. If you’re a plumber, an architect, or contractor, it serves as your basis for virtually everything. Measurements dictate cost, manpower, time, and effort down the line. One may lament about the cost. But when you come to think about it, all the savings you rack up with teams or people and multiple tools. Here you discover that owning a laser tape is a worthwhile investment.

 They’re easy to carry, simple to operate, and pay for themselves in a much shorter time than expected. They truly are the best out on the market.

We have high quality laser measuring devices with accuracy of +/- 2mm, covering distances of up to 120 Meters. They are obvious choice for larger distances and only require the user to choose a setting point, and click. The result will be right there on the display. You can even choose the units and toggle between them so that there’s absolutely no chance of misreading.

HOW DOES A LASER DISTANCE METER WORK?

Laser Tape Measures are alternatives to traditional metal Tape measure. They are used to calculate Lengths, Widths and Heights of up to 40/50/60/80/100/120m.

They are generally considered accurate when measuring a distance. Laser Tape Measures are mainly used by people who do a lot of measuring; however, Home owners can easily use Laser Tape Measures around the house too.

  • To use a Laser Tape Measure, you place the device on one end of what you want to measure, then aim the Laser beam such that it hits an object at the other end such as wall, Pole etc..
  • In the absence of object, you can put a target at the spot you want to measure up to. The process is similar to using a conventional Tape measure, except you use a Laser beam instead of metal Tape.
  • Once you have your Laser Pointed at the spotted area, identify and press the measure button; it will automatically measure to where the Laser (Red Light) is pointed and the tape measure calculates the distance and display it on its screen.
  • The calculation is done through Precision optics and Laser Physics using the phase shift method, in which a Laser hits an object and compares its reflection with the beam sent out.
  • Some Laser tape measures allow you measure multiple distances and add them together automatically. Laser tape measures are normally quicker to use than conventional ones and avoid the inaccuracies that can be caused by a twisted or sagging tape measure.

It is easier to read a digital display of the measurement than to count little lines on a tape measure. Laser tape also eliminates the complications of measuring high ceilings and other hard to reach spaces.

A FIRST TIME INTRODUCTION TO LASER DISTANCE MEASUREMENT DEVICE

Laser Measuring Tape is also known as Laser Tape. It may sometimes be referred to as Laser Distance Measure or Laser Distance Meters. It is a digital device that helps measure buildings and other physical entities faster.

Laser Measuring Tape is extremely accurate and precise in field or project measurement. It is a modern alternative to the traditional tape measurement and a modern tool for people who do building and site-related measurements such as;

  • Architects

BASIC FACTS ABOUT HIGH ACCURACY LASER DISTANCE MEASUREMENT LASER MEASURING TAPE

Digital measuring devices with laser technologies are one of the fastest and most accurate ways to measure buildings and her components, especially when there are multiple measurements to be taken during the same job or day.

Measurements are taken by sending out a pulse of Laser light to a defined target and then measuring the amount of time it takes for the reflection to return. This allows for extremely accurate readings, even over large distance of about 150 meters.

Laser Measure also has a variety of measurement functions including;

<li data-css="tve-u-1779d727d37">Continuous Measurement</li>
<li data-css="tve-u-1779d727d38">Area Measurement</li>
<li data-css="tve-u-1779d727d39">Volume Measurement</li>
<li data-css="tve-u-1779d727d3a">Pythagorean Measurement</li>
<li data-css="tve-u-1779d727d3b">Preposition measurement</li>
<li data-css="tve-u-1779d727d3c">Automatic</li>

Additionally, On-board functions allow the device to Add, Subtract, calculate Area, Volume Triangulate and a range of other functions. With Laser measuring tools, one can achieve more accurate measurement readings especially at extended lengths and in a shorter period of time.

Laser Measuring Tape is as simple as operating a phone, for instance, if you want to measure a simple distance, the user must place the device at one end of the line that is to be measured and aim the Laser beam (Red Light) at a solid target such as wall, cabinet or any object as an indicator. If a solid object is not available, a plastic target can be placed at the required destination to allow the laser beam to be reflected.

HOW TO USE TECHNOLOGIES IN REAL ESTATE CONSULTING

We are in the new normal, and the way we run businesses have changed, many companies can no longer manage voluminous payroll, because they cannot keep paying staff when the jobs are not forthcoming.

Intelligent professionals like you are now exploring smarter ways to run their businesses, they are exploring productive technologies that would save them from the COVID-19 global lock-down, they are eager to chase out the physical barriers that wanted to keep them out of relevance.

To minimize cost, work remotely  and increase your productivity through smart IT system( Not all IT systems are smart, some are difficult to learn and use. The ones that simplify your life and turn your practice to goldmine are the SMART IT Systems), it is important to understand and know how to manipulate the “THREE CATEGORIES OF OPERATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES” in your real estate / real estate related business as follows;

1. OUTDOOR

The outdoor technologies include your Digital Measuring Wheel, Laser Measuring Tape, Handheld GPS Devices, Drones, Digital Camera and few other technology tools you use outside the office. Most times, these tech tools are commonly used for data collection in the field.

All these tools must be kept organized and you must master how to utilize them to your full advantage. You get better accuracies with these tools and clients rely more on your professional judgements when you deploy these tools to your daily practice.

For Example, a digital measuring wheel helps you to single-handedly carry out several field measurement without any extra support from the second or third person.

You can use it to measure sites accurately and you can measure up to 10,000 meters, both distance and perimeter. This means that only “MR A” can go to the site and conduct field measurement, while “MR B” stays in the office to prepare reports, and “MR C” who seems not to be effective and innovative in the practice would have to take a leave so that the company can manage the workplace on a minimal and productive budget.

2. INDOOR

The indoor technologies in real estate operation include the software we use in the office to manipulate and process our real estate data, and also present our information, it also extends to some other productivity and process software. This Software include; PODIO; Digital Workspace Manager for Real Estate Practice, ARGUS; Valuation and Investment Analysis, EVERNOTE: Digital Assets Manager, Etc. and some other common software such as Microsoft Excel, Power-point, Office, Autocad, Revit Architecture, etc.

I will be exploring some other web-based software that helps you digitize your real estate practice, work remotely, minimize your cost and make the physical office less important….this would be my next write up.

3. HYBRID

If you don’t know, there are some technologies that you can use both outdoor and indoor to collect and process your real estate information, for example, you can use your mobile Evernote to record data and capture information in the field, and then automatically synchronize same with the office while you are still in the field in far away Kaduna or Kano, the office in Lagos will receive your field data in seconds and the Indoor Team prepare the report for signing by the Principal Partner the same day, the report goes out to the final client the same day.

Also, you can use a GPS to collect your data in the field, synchronize the same with your GIS/Google Earth Software, then visually analyze the information you collected in the field. This approach may look technical because you might not be familiar with GPS application in real estate, just click here to learn more about GPS in Real Estate, then come back to finish this article.

I will be guiding you on how to practically deploy and leverage on FREE and Open Source Technologies in your everyday professional practice, just follow my articles.
